As founders of MyPet & pet owners, we’ve always had loads of frustrations when it came to our pets. They are family to us, but none the less managing everything you need to with your pet can be really frustrating.
For me one of the first things that got me thinking about the MyPet concept was taking my dogs to the pet hotel…
I was around half way there and I remembered “jeez I haven’t lifted their pet health cards” then I started panicking, “Are their vaccines up to date?” I was sure about their annual vaccines but wasn’t so sure about their Kennel cough.
I got home, spent 45 minutes looking for them, eventually finding them buried in a drawer and off again in the car rushing to make it to the pet hotel in time. I was already pretty stressed as I was off on holiday the next morning, of course I hadn’t packed either.
I got there with 5 minutes to spare and got my boys checked in which is always emotional. (When I was getting married my father in law and I dropped them in. I cried the whole way home.)
On the plane the next day I thought about how much easier it would have been if there was a way I could have had my vaccine information stored digitally and a way that helped me ensure their vaccines were always up to date! This made me consider the entire experience of booking, I had to call twice just talk to someone when booking their stay. I didn’t get any kind of booking confirmation either.
Another really frustrating experience was booking my pets in for a grooming appointment. I was booking an appointment once and I Facebook messaged the business. Their diary was in work and they would call me in the morning. They forgot and I forgot! (Life is busy) I messaged again that night. The diary was in work again. We did connect the next day but this meant it took 3 days to book my pet in for an appointment! This should have taken me less than 1 minute.
These experiences were replicated in one way or another with a lot of pet care businesses!
After this, we started doing some research, loads of people were really frustrated with different parts of pet care. Not just pet owners had HUGE problems, Pet care businesses had HUGE problems too.
To help pet owners we released an app to help pet owners which:

? Allows you to add all your appointments and reminders!
? Lost MyPet – Just in case your pet ever goes missing!
